Frequently asked questions

What does 'no PHI' mean in practice?
AqtaBio uses population-level ecological indicators only, no patient records, no individual-level data. All features are derived from open environmental, climatic, and biodiversity datasets. This means no HIPAA/GDPR Article 9 consent requirements for the core data layer.
How does data residency work?
By default, EU customers are served from AWS eu-west-1 (Ireland). US government customers can elect us-east-1. On-premises deployment (Global tier) removes cloud dependency entirely.
What is the 53-day lead time claim?
In retrospective analysis, AqtaBio's model assigned Hubei province a risk score of 0.82 in November 2019, 53 days before WHO notification on 31 December 2019. This is documented in our Proof of Concept page with full methodology.
Can we pilot before committing?
Yes. Agency tier pilots are available at no cost for 90 days for qualified public health agencies. Contact hello@aqtabio.org with your institution name and use case.
